An orb for every agent
Each agent gets a name and a color, and it can report its own color so the orb matches the one you already know. Its orb glows and its threads pulse while it works, then settle down when it's idle.
Live wallpaper for macOS · native Swift + Metal
Every agent you run becomes a glowing orb around a bright core. When an agent is working, its orb lights up. Weather, moon, your day and recent activity sit around it in a quiet HUD. Everything runs on your Mac. You pay once.

Features
See at a glance which agents are busy and which ones are finished, without checking a single terminal.
Each agent gets a name and a color, and it can report its own color so the orb matches the one you already know. Its orb glows and its threads pulse while it works, then settle down when it's idle.
Pick one agent as the core (your orchestrator, your main assistant) or leave the center for the whole crew.
Current conditions and a 3-day forecast for your city from MET Norway, plus the moon phase. °F or °C. Live weather effects too: rain, storms, fog and heat shimmer.
An AQI readout next to the weather. Your agent can switch on a free air-quality provider for you.
Countdowns to your next events and a short to-do list, pulled from your Mac's calendar or a plain text file.
A short, quiet feed of what each agent just did: "Opened PR #42", "Deployed staging build", "Filed expense report".
Stocks, indexes, crypto, metals, each with a sparkline. You bring a free API key and your agent wires it up. Off by default.
Native Swift and Metal, a menu-bar Settings window, a five-step onboarding, Start at login. It stays out of the way of full-screen apps.
Scales with your crew
Run one assistant or a whole team. The layout adapts on its own: orbs spread out in arcs, add a second ring past a dozen, and labels never cover the HUD panels.
Hands-off setup
Paste one prompt into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex or Grok. The app ships with a setup guide written for agents (AGENTS.md). Your agent reads it and then registers your crew, hooks each agent up so it lights its own orb, and installs the data sources you ask for.

Styles
Styles control the whole look: orbs, threads, HUD panels, color palette. Your agents, city and panels stay the same when you switch.
A cyan sci-fi HUD: a bright core with glowing neural threads, glass panels and a starfield.
New styles arrive as free updates. Every style works with any number of agents.

Install help
We're a small indie developer, and this early version isn't signed with an Apple Developer ID yet. Because of that, macOS asks you to confirm the very first launch. You only do this once.
Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Botroost into Applications.
In Applications, right-click (or Control-click) the app and choose Open, then click Open in the dialog. This works on macOS 13 Ventura and 14 Sonoma.
On macOS 15 Sequoia and later, open the app once and close the warning. Then go to System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, click Open Anyway next to the app's name, and confirm with your password.
If you prefer the Terminal, this removes the download quarantine flag for this app only:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Botroost.app"
Run it only on a copy you downloaded from this site.

FAQ
Any of them. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, Grok, OpenClaw-style bots, cron jobs, shell scripts. If it can run broost active my-agent or send one HTTP request, it can light an orb. Settings has copy-paste snippets for common tools.
Yes. You pay once and keep it. There's no subscription, and no server of ours that could shut down and take your app with it.
There's no trial, but the screenshots and the feature list on this page show exactly what you get: one purchase, yours forever, on up to 3 of your Macs. Questions? Email [email protected] before you buy. All sales are final.
It's native Metal, not a video or a web page, and it pauses when a full-screen app covers the desktop.
One is fine, and 24 or more works too. Past a dozen, orbs get a little smaller and move onto a second ring so everything stays readable.
From whatever provider you choose. You get a free API key, and your agent follows the included guide to add it as a plugin. We don't bundle market data, which keeps the price low and the licensing clean.
